Just Between Coaches

Melinda introduces For Better or For Work, a new show in the Mirasee FM podcast network, hosted by Bhoomi Pathak and Danny Iny. In this bonus episode, guest couple Suzanne Evans and Melonie Orr discuss how to disagree as life and business partners.

Show Notes

Welcome to For Better or For Work. What’s it like to be partners in business and in life? Mirasee owners Danny Iny and Bhoomi Pathak tackle the unique challenges as well as benefits of working with a spouse or significant other. Each episode features a guest couple who also share their experiences, perspectives, and hard-earned wisdom.

“You disagree by being respectfully reactionary… Your point of view, your opinions, your gut reaction is all you have in life.”  – Suzanne Evans

“I think that sometimes you just have to go with your gut and blurt it out, and then work through it and be willing to stand beside it.”  – Melonie Orr

Suzanne Evans

Suzanne Evans is the founder of Driven Inc. She is a mom, wife, sister, entrepreneur, and risk taker from North Carolina. Her work blends business, strategy, lifestyle, and storytelling in a way that allows people to build businesses that shape the world to be a better place. The process of  momship and business ownership and life has been a delicious mix of messy, exhilarating, devastating, and exciting.

Melonie Orr

Melonie Orr is president of Driven Inc. Always irreverent and brutally honest, Melonie disrupts any business conversation she enters by making it more logical, less emotional, and more profitable. She follows this approach because she knows that making the logical best decision will always yield the best results. She left her job as marketing director for the nation’s largest not-for-profit educational theater to run all things Driven Inc. to the tune of more than $7 million a year. By helping people realize their potential, she believes anyone can build a profitable brand.

Along the way, both women have gotten some of it right: hitting the Inc. 500/5000 for five straight years and landing #5 on the NY Times Bestseller list. As they say, they’ve also messed up a lot of things, which positions them perfectly to help more good people do more good work in the world.

What is Just Between Coaches?

Where do coaches turn when they face a difficult situation with a client? Quite often, when coaching challenges arise, they reach out to a coach more senior than themselves. That’s the aim of Just Between Coaches — to be that trusted source of guidance for the coaching community.

Hosted by Melinda Cohan, coach and creator of The Coaches Console business management system, Just Between Coaches will answer the tough questions that coaches face every day. For example, what can I do if my client is lying? How do I deal with price resistance from prospects and clients? What if I want to fire a coaching client? And what the heck is a feeder course and why should I care?

This tactical podcast will provide a deep dive into one coaching topic per episode, which means searching for answers will be a breeze. It will also offer a simple way for listeners to refer other coaches who are grappling with those tough coaching questions. To submit a tough question you’re facing as a coach, put “JBC” in the subject line and send it to podcasts@mirasee.com.
