The Vegas Golden Knights defeated the Anaheim Ducks, 3-1, in Game 1 of their Second Round series on Monday night at T-Mobile Arena.
After a scoreless first period, Brett Howden opened the scoring at
3:14 of the second, finishing a backdoor feed from Mitch Marner. Mikael Granlund tied the game 1-1 with
6:03 remaining, but Ivan Barbashev responded just over a minute later with the game-winning goal off a setup from Pavel Dorofeyev.
Marner sealed the 3-1 victory with an empty-net goal in the final seconds, while Carter Hart made 33 saves on 34 shots for a .971 save percentage to earn the win. Marner finished with a goal and an assist, giving him five points (3G, 2A) over his last two games, Barbashev extended his point streak to seven games (3G, 4A) with the winner, and Howden’s opening tally was his fifth goal of the postseason.
