Welcome, dear listeners, to our daily exploration of Pirkey Avot, the Ethics of our Fathers. Today, we're focusing on a verse from Chapter 2, Mishnah 5, where Hillel says, "Do not separate yourself from the community.” In our modern, often individualistic society, we might question the relevance of this verse. However, the wisdom of Hillel is timeless and applicable to our daily lives. Each of us is part of a larger community, be it our family, friends, synagogue, city, or nation. When we remove ourselves from these communities, we not only lose the support and resources they provide, but we also lose the chance to contribute, to make a positive impact on those around us. Being part of a community means sharing in its joys and sorrows, its victories and struggles. It means giving of ourselves, our time, our talents, and yes, sometimes our patience and forgiveness. It means learning from others and teaching them in return. It means growing together, as individuals and as a group. So, dear friends, let's strive to stay connected, to be part of our communities. Let's contribute our unique gifts and learn from the gifts of others. And in doing so, let's make our own small corner of the world a little better, a little brighter, each day.
