Reec's experience as an artist made for a natural transition into radio, first starting off as an AM radio host; Reec began working with Hot 107.9 in 2008 by way of the station's community outreach partnership.
Through his nonprofit organization, Positive American Youth USA
(PAYUSA)-co founded with his father-Reec hosted community events on the station's behalf, who at the time were seeking to establish a more tangible presence among their listeners within the community; this ultimately led to a fulltime on air position in 2013.
Through his work with PAYUSA Reec earned an NAACP Unsung Hero & Community Service Award, presented to him by former Atlanta Mayor, Kasim Reed. Additionally in early 2019, Reec received a proclamation from Georgia State Representative, Erica Thomas, and an acknowledgement from Congressman David Scott recognizing his community involvement. Reec's commitment to community also gained notoriety with Oprah Winfrey's Angel Network, who honored him for his work through PAYUSA's Ball 4 Books initiative.
Additionally, Reec was selected as a guest speaker for the Boys and Girls Club of America's, Passport to Manhood.
Having newly developed a children's book series entitled "Ice The Bully"
centered on PAYUSA's anti bullying campaign, Reec and the fictional character Ice, utilize fabricated stories loosely based on real life scenarios, to promote positive imagery as it relates to fitness, nutrition & financial literacy. Furthermore Reec's signature program Lunch on Reec allows him an opportunity to interact and serve at least 24 underprivileged youth weekly, providing them a gourmet meal and intimate access to celebrities, community leaders and relatable professionals.
Currently apart of Rodney Perry's IMPROV comedy show, Reec appeared on four seasons of the TV One unscripted comedy, Rickey Smiley For Real, and additionally, made an actorial debut on FOX's hit series STAR. Further accolades include, Hot Block Magazine's Hip Hop Community Service Award; Induction into the Atlanta Metro College Athletics Hall of Fame, and the United Athletes Foundation (UAF), a membership he shares alongside iconic sports figures such as Ray Lewis and Jim Brown. Its no surprise that when asked, "Who U Wit?" The crowd proudly responds REEC!
