Nathan works in Frankfurt Monday to Friday and flies home to his partner and two kids every weekend. Before this year he’d never done a triathlon, and he hadn’t been in a pool since he was 12.
Seven months later he went
5:22 at his first 70.3 in Malaga. A few weeks after that he ran
3:26 at Dublin Marathon, 23 minutes quicker than his first marathon two years ago.
In this episode we get into:
- Why he invested in a coach instead of a plan off ChatGPT
- Four stags, weddings and 100 flights a year, and how we built training around it
- Getting back in the pool for the first time since he was 12
- Forked lightning on race morning in Malaga
- Why the people closest to you need to buy in too
- What’s next: sub-5 at Mallorca in May
“Anyone can put a plan together for Joe Bloggs. I needed a plan for Nathan Murphy.”
