Recently, American publication Washington Post accused Singapore’s Lianhe Zaobao of deferring to “Beijing narratives”. This prompted a rebuke from the Chinese newspaper, and now Singapore’s ambassador to the US has also spoken out against it. Is our local newspaper really taking sides in the US-China divide?
