Jim Lang and Larry Simpson interview Woodbine Handicapper and Daily Simulcast Host Jeff Bratt, who talks about todays E.P. Taylor Stakes at Woodbine and the Queen’s Plate winner Moira who will probably be race favourite even though she is racing against older mares and American and European breds for the first time, talks about some of the other stakes races on the card today, ‘gives out’ a couple of handicapping plays on the Saturday Woodbine card and a favourite ‘go to’ handicapping angle; Ajax Downs media person Jennifer Morrison, who discusses the special card of quarter horse racing on Thanksgiving Monday and how Ajax Downs has fared business wise this racing season, talks about the Breeders Stakes at Woodbine last week and mentions about her book ‘Run With A Mighty Heart’ and how she is in the top three for a significant publishing award to be awarded in early November in Kentucky; and Woodbine Mohawk Park track announcer Ken Middleton, who discusses the month of September and why it was a ‘September to Remember’ for Canadian harness racing, gives his impressions of why Bulldog Hanover and harness driver James MacDonald have been so successful recently and updates the listeners on the importance of the upcoming Breeders Crown stakes events to be held at Woodbine Mohawk Park the last weekend in October. Larry also provides his ‘Ponies Picks of the Day’ selections for several North American racetracks.

• Jeff talks about last weeks Breeders Stakes at Woodbine and how there was a sense of redemption for trainer Mark Casse, whose horses ran first and second in the race. He also discusses how todays E.P. Taylor Stakes may be a challenge for Queen’s Plate winner Moira and talks about the Durham Stakes and Nearctic Stakes which are both at Woodbine today and makes a couple of race selections for the listeners. Taylor stakes and despite the fact that she is racing against older mares, this shouldn’t be an issue and also makes a couple of selections on the Woodbine Thoroughbred card today. Jennifer also discusses her book ‘ Run With A Mighty Heart’ and how listeners can purchase a copy and the fact that she is one of three finalists for a US publishing award for horse racing books , with the winner being announced at a farm in Kentucky in early November.
• Ken talks about how last month was a ‘September to Remember’ from the standpoint of exceptional harness racing and great horses and drivers. He also discusses the success of the horse Bulldog Hanover and leading harness driver James MacDonald and how there is a common component to both of their recent successes on the track. Ken also talks about the major significance of the upcoming Breeders Crown races at Woodbine Mohawk Park, the last weekend in October and the importance of these races to the industry and especially to the owners when year-end awards are handed out. Ken also talks about his own small racing stable and the status of his stakes winning three-year-old colt Bob Loblaw and when we may see him back racing.
