This year, 2024, I was on the edge of recognizing that my own two daughters would be leaving home. Makes me emotional.

Betty White and I share the same birthdate, but when Betty would have turned 100, I was turning 50, half Betty's age. As I started to really think about Betty and our shared birthdays, what I came to recognize is that Betty did more in her life from 50 to 100 than even what she did between when she was born and 50.

Half Betty describes a community. It describes a place where women in their mid-lives can come together and create a connection, a place where they know that they are amongst others that are in the exact same place in their life. And all of a sudden, I was even more inspired by the idea that 50 marks a beginning.
