As it's Hallowe'en we're tackling three real horror classics in the shape of Rosemary's Baby, The Haunting and Suspiria. And as another timely tie-in, The Shining is our "Scene It" pick for the month. Also up for discussion are two of our favourites from October - Captain Phillips and Prince Avalanche - and two picks from November, The Counsellor and Drinking Buddies.

Show Notes

Mia Farrow in Rosemary's Baby

A few weeks ago we shared our first Watch With Spooool feature which saw us tackling three horror classics – Rosemary’s Baby (1968), The Haunting (1963) and Suspiria (1977). In this latest edition of the podcast we spent twenty minutes yacking about them and listening to their creepy scores.

Also up for discussion this month is the Tom Hanks and Paul Greengrass collaberation Captain Phillips and Emile Hirsch and Paul Rudd’s understated 1980s Texas roadmen film Prince Avalanche. There’s even a few minutes to look back on the Metallica IMAX film, The Irish Pub and Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2. In our November preview, our picks are Joe Swanberg’s Drinking Buddies and Ridley Scott’s Fassbender/Bardem/Pitt/Cruz/Diaz film The Counselor.

And finally we wrap things up with a scene from a true horror classic from Stanley Kubrick. Danny? DANNY?!
