Geek Herring

We watched Enola Holmes 2! And, in a rare surprise, we don't really agree on our opinion of the movie! Tune in to find out why Amanda loved this film and why Moni thought it could've been a LOT better.

Show Notes

We watched Enola Holmes 2! And, in a rare surprise, we don't really agree on our opinion of the movie!
Moni's biggest issue (and it's a good one!) is that the film portrays historical events in a not so accurate way. This brings up a discussion on the line between historical accuracy and creative storytelling - how much can you change history to suit a story?
Here's what else we talked about:
  • where is the line between historical accuracy and creative fiction
  • the true story of the 1888 match girl strike
  • humanising Sherlock Holmes
  • Being your own person
  • the importance of community and not doing it alone
  • creating opportunities
  • police corruption (#ACAB)
  • diversity in role casting
  • women preparing to save women
  • moariarty reimagined
