Study His Word: Read The Bible In A Year

"From a peak of victory, God supports Elijah through his depth of despair, to do His work. Ahad is an evil king (16:30), but a witness of God’s power in Elijah’s victory over the Baal prophets (18:38-39). As such, God continues to work on Ahad, that he may know the Lord. When one resists God’s call to change, as Ahad, his flaws will lure him deeper into sin. Ahad has done more evil than previous rulers (16:30-31), especially in marrying Jezebel. But he repented in 21:27-29. Still, he is a carnal believer, with defects that we should avoid. "
