Global Connections

Episode 3 takes climate change and focuses on “Just Transitions”, a social justice practice wherein people and the environment are tied together economically, socially and politically. Just Transitions is gaining more of a focus as governments around the world figure out what steps need to be taken to fight climate change. To unpack and understand this concept, we talk with Dr. Dimitris Stevis of Colorado State University’s Political Science department.

Dr. Stevis teaches courses relating to international relations, the global political economy, and green political economies alongside other topics. His research examines the intersections of how our environment and the global economy interact with social power, justice, and both local and global dynamics. This episode was originally posted and released on April 8, 2020.
