स्वर्गः नरकं च इहैव

कश्चित् सज्जनः एकदा ग्रामस्य देवालये साधोः प्रवचनं आयोजितवान् यत्र प्रतिदिनं जनाः साधोः प्रवचनं श्रोतुं आगच्छन्ति स्म । एकस्मिन् दिने साधुः स्वर्गनरकयोः विषये सविस्तरं व्याख्यानं कृत्वा यदा अपृच्छत् 'कति जनाः स्वर्गं गन्तुम् इच्छन्ति?’ सर्वे एकस्वरेण 'अहम् अहम्" इति अवदन् ।  किन्तु एकः बालकः प्रतिस्पन्दं न अकरोत् । पुनः साधुः अपृच्छत् "कति जनाः नरकं गन्तुम् इच्छन्ति?’ सर्वे मौनेन आसन् । साधुः बालकस्य प्रतिस्पन्दं न दृष्ट्वा तम् अपृच्छत्, 'स्वर्गनरकयोः विषये तव प्रतिस्पन्दः किमर्थं नास्ति?" इति । बालकः अवदत् 'अहं अत्रैव जीवितुम् इच्छामि । अहं यत्र भवामि  तत्रैव स्वर्गं रचयिष्यामि' तस्य वचनं श्रुत्वा साधुः स्तब्धः अभवत् ।

A gentleman once organized a sage’s lecture in the village temple, where people gathered daily to listen to the sage’s teachings. One day, the sage gave a detailed discourse on heaven and hell and then asked, ‘How many of you want to go to heaven?’. Everyone responded in unison, ‘I do, I do’. However, one boy did not respond. The sage then asked, ‘How many of you want to go to hell?’ Everyone remained silent. The sage, noticing the boy's lack of response, asked him, ‘Why are you not responding about heaven or hell?’. The boy replied, ‘I want to live here itself. Wherever I am, I will create heaven there’. Hearing his words, the sage was stunned.

What is बालमोदिनी?

सम्भाषणसन्देशः इति संस्कृतमासिकपत्रिका (https://sambhashanasandesha.in) । एतस्यां पत्रिकायां प्रकाशिताः लेखाः, कथाः, बालकथाः, वार्ताः इत्यादिकं सर्वम् अपि सरलसंस्कृतेन एव प्रकाश्यते । तत्रत्याः “बालमोदिनी”नामिकाः बालकथाः अत्र प्रसार्यन्ते । अतः अस्याः शृङ्खलायाः नाम अपि “बालमोदिनी” एव । लघु गात्रं, सरला भाषा च कथानां विशेषः । प्रत्येकं कथा काञ्चित् नीतिं बोधयति । बालकथाः आबालवृद्धं सर्वेषां प्रियाः । संस्कृतेन ताः श्रोतुम् उपलब्धाः भवन्तु इति एषः प्रयत्नः श्रोतृभ्यः अवश्यं रोचेत इति विश्वासः । संस्कृतक्षेत्रे संस्कृतेन पॉड्कास्ट् क्रियमाणाः एताः प्रप्रथमाः कथाः इति सगौरवम् उद्घोष्यते ।

It is believed that listeners will appreciate this effort to make these stories available in Sanskrit. These are the first stories to be podcasted in the Sanskrit language within this field.
