GFBC Hemet Sunday Sermons

In this message from the “Good News” series, Pastor Robbie explains the heart of the gospel: the bad news that we are dead in sin and separated from God, and the good news that Jesus came to rescue, forgive, and give new life. Through Nicodemus’ encounter with Jesus, we are reminded that being religious, moral, or knowledgeable is not enough—we must be born again by the Spirit.

Key themes:
-The gospel means “good news,” but it only makes sense when we understand the bad news of sin.

-We are not saved by effort, religion, church attendance, or good works, but by God’s grace through Jesus.

-Jesus exchanges our sin for His righteousness, giving us freedom and a new identity.

-To enter the kingdom of God, we must be born again by the Spirit.

-Believers are called to walk in freedom and share the good news with others.

Scripture to Read:
Main Scripture Passage
   - John 3:1–17

Supporting Scripture Passage
   - Ephesians 2:1–5

Application Scripture Passage
   - 1 Corinthians 15:1–4

Questions to consider:
- Have I personally been born again, or am I relying on religion, morality, or knowledge?

- Where am I still living in bondage instead of walking in the freedom Christ has given me?

- Who in my life needs to hear the good news of Jesus, and how can I begin praying for and inviting them?
