100 Greatest Inventions

In this episode we look at an invention that was as radical for one half of the population as it was for another. Leading to bodily control for women throughout the world, it resulted in the sexual revolution of the 1960s and female empowerment to this day. An invention full of messy compromise and questionable ethics, the development of 'the pill' was a testament to the power of science during the 1950s and an ode against the messy bureaucracy of University science departments.
