Stablecoins are cryptocurrencies backed one-to-one with U.S. dollar - in theory - but that has never really been tested. One of the biggest stablecoin issuers, Tether, has never been audited. It's a mysterious organization with $80 billion in assets, making it one of the largest "banks" in the world, but nobody knows where those billions are stashed. Dr. Sean Stein Smith joins the show to discuss Tether, the risks of unregulated stablecoins, and what accountants need to know.
