Today’s Advent devotion from First Baptist Athens is offered by Alison Cunningham. Her devotion is based on the story from Luke 2:8-20. Shepherds in the fields receive the good news of the birth of a Savior. Hearing this, they go to Bethlehem to see what has been told them.  Alan Hester provides the music to begin our devotion, which is followed by the reading of the scripture from the Common English Bible

Open to Explore Devotions from FBC Athens offers seasonal podcasts for the Advent and Christmas season, and the Lent and Easter season each year. Men and women in our congregation prepare these sharing their experiences of life and faith. Special themed series are also offered during the year which have a scripture reference and brief reflection.
