Start by standing in front of your own home...what does it look like? How does it compare to your neighbors? Do your neighbors help or hurt you when you sell?  Freshening your landscaping goes a long way in "putting your best foot forward". Remember - people will drive by your home long before walking through it, so have your home looking grreat even at night while you are listed.
