I'd Like To Thank Myself

I have more pretty privilege at 48 than I ever had at 28. And the world has opinions about that.

Shop Rewritten Beauty. The serum I built when I turned 40 and refused to disappear.

I learned about pretty privilege at twelve years old, dumpster diving for eyeshadow in Appalachia. For 30 years the experiment ran beautifully. Then I turned 40 and the whole game changed.

This episode is about what pretty privilege actually looks like after 40... the cost, the judgment, the body that switched teams, and why I'm not apologizing for any of it.

In this episode:
  • The dumpster experiment I ran at twelve that proved pretty privilege was real
  • Why at 28 it's "she looks great" but at 48 it's a congressional hearing
  • Pretty privilege at 25 is a lottery ticket. At 48 it's a business plan.
  • The social cost that every woman over 40 notices but nobody talks about
  • My hormones held a corporate merger I did not approve (and collagen quiet quit)
  • My response to Betty in the comments who thinks I forgot to mention my plastic surgery
  • Why "age gracefully" is just a polite way of telling women to disappear
  • The one line my twelve-year-old self needed to hear (and why I'm saying it now at 48)

What is I'd Like To Thank Myself ?

We thank everyone else for our success... friends, team, mentors. But when’s the last time you thanked the only person who actually dragged you through hell and back?

YourSELF.

This show is my love letter to the version of you who doesn’t get enough credit. The you who kept going when it would’ve been easier to quit.

I’m pulling back the curtain on what it actually looks like to be 48, building a skincare company, navigating perimenopause, raising a teenager, and refusing to become invisible.

The stuff nobody talks about after 40. And how I’m rewriting all of it.

Sometimes it’s just me. Sometimes it’s founders, creatives, and icons who’ve rewritten everything too. Always, it’s the raw truth.

Nothing filtered. Nothing softened. Nothing for show. Just the truth... and a drink.

Every episode ends the same way: we raise a glass and say the thing most people are too humble to admit: I’d like to thank mySELF.
