"My servant, my Moses, 251.840000 255.040000 my servant is dead, arise, Joshua." 255.040000 256.040000 What was God saying? 256.040000 259.120000 He was saying, "Joshua, if you don't get from where you're at 259.120000 263.280000 to where I want you to be, you will get stuck in the cycle of defeat 263.280000 267.280000 and the cycle of grief and you will never go where I want you to go." got to learn to believe. 458.680000 462.000000 You've got to learn to say, Lord, I don't know what's going on. 462.000000 465.880000 But even in my grief, even in my pain, even in my dismay, 496.320000 I'm not even talking about the death of a loved one. 496.320000 500.320000 Sometimes you can lose a job and you grieve over that job. 500.320000 502.040000 Sometimes you can lose a car. 502.040000 503.880000 Sometimes you can lose a house. 503.880000 506.680000 Sometimes you can lose a pet. 506.680000 510.600000 These things cause grief, but I've lost family members. 510.600000 a word we don't use much in church, 665.280000 666.480000 but it's a good word. 666.480000 669.840000 Sanctification is the process of becoming pure, 669.840000 672.640000 the process of becoming like Jesus Christ. 672.640000 676.720000 And that is a daily process of becoming 676.720000 679.960000 how by the Holy Spirit's indwelling in us. 679.960000 685.680000 So Joshua is here and he has to be brave. 685.680000 689.960000 He has grieved, God said, "Be strong and courageous." 689.960000 694.960000 And God tells him, "Don't be afraid, don't be discouraged." 694.960000 697.200000 So how do I cultivate bravery? 697.200000 699.760000 Number one, remember past victories. 699.760000 702.680000 Do you know Joshua could remember 702.680000 705.000000 to hold out of past victories. 705.000000 707.160000 He saw water come out of a rock. 707.160000 710.960000 He saw a cloud by day and a fire by night. 710.960000 713.880000 He saw how God brought them out 713.880000 717.800000 of Egyptian bondage by his mighty hand. 717.800000 721.040000 He saw the miracles of Moses. 721.040000 724.520000 And now the torch has been passed to him, 724.520000 729.200000 and now he has to run his leg of the race and he's got to do it. 729.200000 730.200000 But if he's going to do it, 730.200000 733.640000 he's got to remember what God has done in the past. 733.640000 736.480000 And even when we go into the life of King David, 736.480000 738.960000 who is an extraordinary person, 738.960000 743.000000 his bio is one that is one of conflict, one of death, 743.000000 746.520000 one of betrayal, one of adultery, one of the incest, one of death. 746.520000 749.160000 And if you read his life story, you would say, 749.160000 751.440000 "Man, why did God put this guy in the Bible?" 751.440000 755.960000 He put him in the Bible to encourage you and me, 755.960000 759.040000 that it doesn't matter how jacked up the situation is. 759.040000 761.840000 God is with you and David was still called 761.840000 764.720000 a man after God's own heart. 764.720000 768.320000 You can be running after God and still trip, 768.320000 769.840000 but you need to get right back up 769.840000 afraid, Lord, I am going to put my trust in you." 833.120000 840.600000 What can mere mortals do to me? 840.600000 843.600000 In the midst of that situation, 843.600000 846.840000 he says, "I will praise your name. 846.840000 850.880000 I will allow the Word of God to go deep in my heart 850.880000 853.560000 to create praise in your name." 853.560000 858.560000 He is being in the middle of a contentious situation, 858.560000 862.560000 but he learns that he has to look at past victories. 862.560000 865.880000 Past victories. 865.880000 869.480000 First Samuel 17, 37 says, "The Lord who rescued me 869.480000 873.000000 from the paw of the lion and the paw of the bear 873.000000 875.720000 will rescue me from the hand of this philistine, 875.720000 879.120000 Saul said to David, "Go, and the Lord be with you." 880.120000 884.840000 David was continuously looking at past victories 884.840000 889.840000 in his life that assured him of present and future victories. 889.840000 892.400000 When you feel down, and when you feel depressed, 892.400000 893.960000 and you feel like you can't go forward, 893.960000 896.120000 and you feel like you can no longer be brave, 896.120000 899.960000 just look at the testimonies in your life. 899.960000 903.680000 Just look at the positive things God has done in your life, 903.680000 907.920000 and watch God do supernatural things as victories. 917.840000 920.800000 Has a lot of great victories in its history. 920.800000 923.040000 You're sitting in a victory. 923.040000 926.360000 We built this church in about 28 acres of land here, 926.360000 928.600000 and we built this first phase building, 928.600000 932.320000 with about 400 people, millions and millions of dollars, 932.320000 933.800000 and people said it couldn't be done. 933.800000 936.600000 You're sitting in a place where people said it couldn't be done, 936.600000 939.320000 but God did it while that's past victories. 939.320000 942.480000 And so, when we go to build in Kerr-Tuk County, 942.480000 943.880000 and I need some encouragement, 943.880000 945.040000 guess what I'm gonna look at? 945.040000 948.080000 I'm gonna look at what God did 12 years ago 948.080000 950.680000 and say if he did it then, he can do it now, 950.680000 953.560000 and he can do exceeding abundantly above all that we could ask 953.560000 956.600000 or think according to the because naturally in America, we celebrate individualism. 975.200000 976.920000 I have no problem with individualism. 976.920000 979.560000 I think we need to be personally responsible. 979.560000 981.720000 I think we need to have personal drive, 981.720000 986.360000 but we celebrate it so hard in America 986.360000 991.360000 that we think we can live this Christian life by ourselves.
