KMOJ's Community Viewpoint

With the government shutdown shaking things up, a lot of folks are feeling the pressure — wondering how to keep food on the table, pay bills, and stay grounded while the world feels unstable. Communities everywhere are in a frenzy, trying to figure out what the future looks like and how to protect their families from the impact of government freezes and financial uncertainty.
But here’s the real talk — beyond the headlines and politics, there’s the emotional toll. The stress, anxiety, and exhaustion can hit hard, especially during the holidays when we’re supposed to feel joy, gratitude, and connection.
This week on The 4 Opinions, we’re breaking it all down:
  • How to protect your peace when everything feels uncertain.
  • What emotional tools you can lean on during a financial or political crisis.
  • How to check in with your mental stability and show up for yourself and your loved ones.
  • And how to build resilience so the chaos around you doesn’t control the calm within you.
Because surviving the shutdown isn’t just about money — it’s about mindset.
Let’s talk about keeping your heart steady and your mind right, even when the system shakes.

What is KMOJ's Community Viewpoint?

“KMOJ’s Community Viewpoint” is a podcast series created by KMOJ-89.9 FM Radio “The People’s Station”. These conversations explore issues and perspectives critical to the health and well-being of all members of the communities of color we serve.
Since first going “on the air” in 1976, KMOJ-89.9-FM continues its legacy as the community-oriented station located in Minneapolis, Minnesota airing a predominantly urban adult contemporary format.
“KMOJ’s Community Viewpoint” is one way the station achieves its mission of engaging, supporting and empowering Communities of Color to elevate the way of life of the people of its community and to challenge social and economic disparities, and the persistent consequences of historic racism.
The station call letters, “KMOJ” were inspired by the Swahili word “UMOJA” which means “Unity.” http://kmojfm.com/
