Warner Bros. was impressed with what James Gunn had done in The Suicide Squad, and wanted to keep him on board for as long as they could. In an effort to do this—and to emulate Marvel Studios’ latest business strategy—they would greenlight the DCEU’s first (and only) television series: Peacemaker.
