भक्तस्य प्रेम

हजरतनिजामुद्दीनस्य समीपं कश्चन निर्धनः आगत्य पुत्र्याः विवाहार्थं साहाय्यम् अयाचत । दिनद्वयानन्तरं हजरतः तस्मै निर्धनाय स्वीयां पादुकां अयच्छत् । निराशः सन् यदा सः निर्धनः‌ हजरतभक्तेन अमीरखुसरेण मार्गमध्ये प्राप्तः तदा अमीरखुसरेण कस्माच्चित् स्थानात् सुगन्धः अनुभूतः । सः सुगन्धः हजरतस्य पादुकातः आगच्छति इति ज्ञाते अमीरखुसरः स्वीयान् उष्ट्रान् प्रभूतं धनं च निर्धनाय दत्तवान् । सः निर्धनः अमीरखुसराय धन्यवादान् समर्प्य ततः निर्गतवान् ।

A poor man went to Hazrat Nizamuddin and asked for help for his daughter's marriage. Two days later, Hazrat gave him his own sandals. Feeling disappointed, the poor man met Hazrat's devotee, Amir Khusro, on the way. Amir Khusro noticed a pleasant fragrance coming from somewhere. When he realized it was from Hazrat's sandals, he gave the poor man camels and a lot of money. The poor man thanked Amir Khusro and left.
