Revelation 2-3 - Notes from the Cutting Room Floor

Greco-Roman culture and the overarching ideal of Hellenism deeply affects the world of the first century church. Jesus and then His disciples and Paul directly deal with this throughout the entire New Testament. We must deal with this and consider its implications for us as we serve Jesus in our current culture. Everywhere we look we see the influences of Hellenism (the founding fathers were strongly influenced by the Greco-Roman worldview) in our cities and towns.

Key thought from this episode: Are we more Hellenist or Christian? Sometimes that line blurs more than we would like to admit! This is part of the problem with the 7 churches in Revelation 2-3, and definitely a struggle of ours.
