Clinical Pearls

This episode explores a specific kind of dementia. Behavioral Variant Frontotemporal dementia (bvFTD) describes a range of progressive dementia syndromes associated with atrophy of the frontal and temporal lobes of the brain. This atrophy affects younger people and results in uncharacteristic and sometimes reckless behavior. Studies suggest that bvFTD is the second most common cause of young onset dementia after Alzheimer's disease. Today, we welcome Dr. Rita Jablonski. She is a visionary leader and innovator in the field of geriatric nursing.
