In 1920, there was nearly a million Black farmers. Today, only about 49,000 of them remain, making up just 1.4 percent of the nation’s farm owners. In this very small group are two people that are actively reversing this trend. And those people are Angela Dawson and her husband Harold Robinson. Together they created the 40 Acre Co-op to help Black farmers cultivate hemp and change their historical narrative.
