In chapters eight and nine of Iggeres HaTeshuvah, the Alter Rebbe explores the power of teshuvah, repentance. He teaches that even if one has strayed far from their spiritual path, sincere repentance can completely erase past transgressions, making them as if they never occurred. He emphasizes that G-d yearns for our return and rejoices even more in our teshuvah than in the righteousness of a perfectly righteous individual. This teaches us the immense power of change and the boundless love of G-d.  No matter our past mistakes, the door to return is always open.
