Clotheshorse with Amanda Lee McCarty

It's a Clotheshorse first: two guests at one time! Sisters KT and Maggie started their own clothing line in high school, utilizing vintage fabric. This episode is part one of a two-part conversation with KT and Maggie, the two sisters (and best friends) behind fully sustainable hat brand, Salt Hats.  They started their own clothing line in high school, utilizing vintage fabric.   They created a zine/catalog to sell the items.  We will talk about their journey as sustainable designers and makers. 

KT and Maggie will share the dark and sordid history of paisley and buffalo print.  Amanda explains the origins of fast fashion.  And we will begin our exploration of the "symptoms" of fast fashion and how they play out IRL
