Paul here reminds the Corinthians that the glory of the Old Testament pales in comparison to the glory of the New Testament and the work of the Lord Jesus Christ consummating everything the Old Testament pointed to and anticipated.
Paul continues his discipleship of the saints in Corinth. Following his first letter, he saw some growth but he also saw a continued deviation from the Word of God. He defends his apostleship and points the Corinthians to Christ for their continued sanctification.
