When a person is called upon to be a witness in a court of law, before taking the stand, everyone is required to tell "the truth and the whole truth." This morning we are looking at a man from the Old Testament who would have failed that test. He is not a very familiar person; you may never remember having heard his name before. But if you are where you can take your Bible out, turn to the book of 1 Samuel in the Old Testament. We will begin with chapter 18, as we explore together this very interesting story, and also as we see how this has an application to our lives today.
