Stress and anxiety during the ongoing pandemic are not solely for patients. In this episode, Gennifer Lane Briggs, LCSW of APsaA's COVID-19 Advisory Team discusses why it is so important for psychoanalysts and others focus on their own mental health. Gennifer, along with colleague Gillian Isaacs Russell, PhD, created and shepherded The American Psychoanalytic Association's Peer Consultation Group Program. The volunteer-led program is by facilitated by more than 30 volunteers, helping hundreds of mental health care workers cope with stress, anxiety and depression during the pandemic.
