Anthropic confirmed today that new Claude models will carry an imperceptible watermark woven directly into generated text — worldwide, not just in the EU — plus signed C2PA provenance metadata on generated files, across Claude, Claude Code, the Platform API, and the versions running on Amazon, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Foundry. With the EU AI Act's Article 50 transparency rules enforceable since August 2, the obligation still lands on the brand that publishes the asset, not the model that made it.
