The Impact Code

Susan Caminez thought for sure she was going to grow up and be a forest ranger, but her love of music flourished and she was soon bitten by the acting bug. She went to The Hartt School of Music in Hartford, CT, where she received her BFA in music theatre. From there she moved to the Big Apple with her precious Maine coon cat the summer after 9/11. The next decade she was involved in a bevy of creative endeavors including a Meisner acting intensive with the renowned JoAnna Beckson, acted in various musicals (Off-Off Broadway) and TV/Film, taught music theatre, coached actors/aspiring film directors (NYU) and entertained as a professional birthday clown. Realizing she liked to be on the other side of the table more than performing, Susan earned her MA in Arts Administration from Columbia University. She produced and directed the short film, “The Stoop” and later directed the short film, “The Job,” (a film about PTSD) which received the Audience Choice Award at the Unbroken Film Festival in London. She is currently the Director of Education & Community Impact at the Chattanooga Symphony & Opera (CSO). At CSO she developed the Family Series which promotes early literacy by bringing classical stories to life with classical music and puppetry as well as the All-Access Concert which is a full-orchestra relaxed performance for disabled patrons of all ages. She is married to her best friend and has two awesome kids.
