Zeus With Bruce

What do you do when you are about to receive information from someone or share information with someone? Like most people, you may take what you hear, run with it, and inadvertently create an endless cycle where the information goes through a game of telephone that does not end up the way it should. The good news spreads quickly but the bad news even faster!

There is a simple framework, and questions, popularized in a story including the great Philosopher Socrates about how to go about this exact situation we go through every day of our lives.

The 3 questions are as follows:

1. Ask if what you’re about to say/hear is TRUE.
2. Ask if what you’re about to say/hear is GOOD.
3. Ask if what you’re about to say/hear is USEFUL.

Try this the next time you are about to receive information from someone who has something to say about someone you know or when you are about to share information with someone about someone they know.

Share with a friend who could use this insight!
