On today's show Alicia Bales and special guest host Dr. Marvin Trotter run the local Coronavirus numbers and talk about the emergency vaccine distribution that occurred today due to a power shutdown in the vaccines storage area. Dr. Trotter answers listener questions about being able to carry the virus once you are vaccinated, how to be identified for a vaccine if you are a healthcare worker not associated with a hospital, testing on the south coast, flying on airplanes, and a new testing opportunity with Mendocino Coast Clinics.

Calls
- Can you still be a carrier of COVID if you get vaccinated? We still don’t know whether or not you can still carry the virus once you’ve been vaccinated.
- How will health care providers not associated with a hospital or business be identified for vaccination? They should call the hospital. 707-462-3111
- Why is there no testing on the south coast? Testing has been difficult to set up across the whole county.
- How safe is flying in an airplane? Airplanes have hepa filters and everyone is required to wear a mask. You are more likely to get sick from wherever you are going than getting sick from being on the airplane.
- How is the county handling the lack of testing in rural areas? Mendocino Coast Clinics is restarting drive through testing on january 6th for Wednesday and Thursdays. You don’t need to make an appointment or get out of your car to get tested.
