In November 1995, a hunter found 12-year-old Josette Wright’s body in Putnam County woods. Three days later, 19-year-old Anthony DiPippo was arrested for her murder. Wrongfully convicted in 1997 and sentenced to 25 years to life, he was exonerated in October 2016 after three trials.
Detective Pat Castaldo, lead investigator, framed Anthony by shaping testimony from his former girlfriend, who became the prosecution's star witness. Friends’ statements obtained after Castaldo lied to them were later recanted.
In this episode, Anthony speaks about his case.
