i've never read any chekhov, but that doesn't stop me from criticizing rubin's reference in #groundhogday minute 83. nor does it stop me from letting rubin defend his reference in his book, nor from quoting chekhov himself, nor from getting sidetracked describing the plot of the one piece of russian literature i've read as an adult--dead souls.
