Kickin' Cancer Cares

In the second half of Robin Barney’s story on Kicking Cancer Cares, she reflects on what treatment was like in the 1970s—when doctors were still trying to figure things out, and care plans were far less advanced than they are today. She also shares how the support groups she encountered at the time didn’t provide the comfort or connection she had hoped for. Instead, her real strength came from staying grounded in a normal life and surrounding herself with people who lifted her up. That steady support gave her the hope and confidence to keep moving forward, knowing she would be okay.
