The Radioplay Hour

There are clearly a number of ways in which Christmas Eve could be spent but I’ve always felt keeping up the tradition of performing “A Christmas Carol” , this time on your listening devices, was the best way this year to tell this best loved Christmas “Ghost” Story.

Show Notes

When Charles Dickens presented this little story to the world almost a hundred years ago, he found an instant response in the hearts of people everywhere who saw in it their favourite fictional chronicle of what Christmas is, and what Christmas means to all the simple people of the Earth. From the day of its first printing, there has remained unbroken the tradition of reading “A Christmas Carol"

For those fortunate enough to see this production done live in past at Preece House, in Nerang, Pomona Museum, in Noosa, and Bankfoot House on the Sunshine Coast, we have Douglas Kennedy reprising the role of Scrooge, with the vocal talents as listed in order of appearance:

NARRATOR / TINY TIM : Charlotte Seymour Smith

I would like to take this time to thank you all, both listening & live audiences, along with business such as Backdock Arts in Fortitude Valley, the Anywhere Festival team, the Sunshine Coast Council & Bankfoot House, as well as the Moreton Bay Council and Pine Rivers Heritage Museum, and Ghostlight Theatre co. who have supported my creative endeavours this year, & last, whether it was traditional theatre, Site Specific, Live audio experiences or my podcasts.
I would also like to give special thanks to Billie Letts for airing my work on the program OZONE, which now has the new name “This & That” on the radio station 4zzz.

When you see familiar faces returning in the audience, during LIVE performances, it gives the show a family feeling. So I would also like to say thank you to Vivienne, Esther and Naarah Harvey for your support during our live
performances on the Sunshine Coast. Hopefully next year I’ll be able to find a spot-on Sunshine Coast to perform another live radioplay event! But I hope you enjoy this performance just the same!
