Impact at the Core | the Podcast

By focusing on urgencies rather than problems, impact education allows for a more flexible approach. Jiska Engelbert and Els Leclerq piloted their honours programme ‘Tackling Inequalities’ this year and join us to talk about their point of view.

Show Notes

Let’s talk about socio-digital inequality! We live in a time of fast-paced digitization and online communication, but what about the accessibility of our brave new world? How high is the threshold to participate for non-native speakers or people who have trouble finding their way on a computer?

In this episode, we speak with Jiska Engelbert and Els Leclerq, initiators of the Tackling Inequalities honours programme. The course revolves around identifying a so-called urgency, which – contrary to a problem – allows for a much more flexible approach, without jumping to solutions that may in fact target the wrong issue or even reinforce the inequalities. Listen to the episode to hear how this mode of education impacts student and society! ‘They perceived it as a real mind fuck.’
