Episode 128 - 2023 Classic Weekend Recap II - Bringing Back The Deuce, Breaking Down The Races

Welcome to episode 128 of the Inside Groove Supermodified Podcast, brought to you by Steering Wheel Nation.

The 67th Annual Budweiser Classic Weekend  at the Oswego Speedway had lots of twists and turns, and host Tom Baker is joined by track PR coordinator/supermodified racer Camden Proud to break down all three events and what made the weekend special.

Tom also reads a handwritten account from veteran supermodified motor builder turned restoration enthusiast Doug Holmes of the restoration of the Immortal "Little Deuce", which made its first appearance at the track since 1974 and was driven for some "warm" laps by its most famous racer, Bentley Warren.

What's In A Number?  The Number 28 belongs to "The Red Creek Rocket" Kempton Dates, and Tom reads the foreword he wrote for the Kemp Dates scrapbook compiled by Faye and Jody Dates to pay tribute to the 1977 Track Champion.
