The Fabulous Learning Nerds

Let’s face it, all skills aren’t made equally. Some skills are more durable than others such as communication and leadership presence. That being said, what kinds of skills are we giving to our frontline employees? All too often our workers get the task-oriented, perishable skills while the leaders get the more durable ones. As learning professionals are we unintentionally reinforcing an unequal system through the way we develop skills and deciding who gets access to what kind of skills? This week the NERDS are proud to Mathew J Daniel, a talent development strategist and principle at Guild Education. Mathew shares his views of talent inequity in our industry and what we can do to help ensure that everyone has a path for growth no matter what role they have in an organization. This is a very powerful and impactful episode that you won’t want to miss!  If you would like to connect with Mathew, you can do so here: LinkedIn - https://linkedin.com/in/matthewjdaniel email - matthew.daniel@guildeducation.com website - https://matthewjdaniel.com Guild’s Career Opportunity Framework will come out next quarter: https://info.guildeducation.com/opportunity-outcomes-2/p/1   Additional Articles related to this week’s episode: https://www.chieflearningofficer.com/2020/10/29/skills-arent-soft-or-hard-theyre-durable-or-perishable/  https://www.talentmgt.com/articles/2022/10/11/its-time-to-treat-internal-talent-like-campus-hires/   If you would like to participate in the discussion, please email us at nerds@thelearningnerds.com Or visit our website www.thelearningnerds.com   #equityintalent #learningopportunities #racialequityinlearning #advancement #durablelearning #perishablelearning #quietquitting #continuouslearning #buyin #stakeholderbuyin #behaviorchange #lastingimpact #contentengagement #hooks #calltoaction #upfrontlearning #learning #strategy #opportunities #innovation #content #innovation #learninginnovation #staeholdermanagement #relevantlearning #learningabroad #projectmanagement #stakeholders #reviews #courseobjectivces #training  #learninglanguages #teachingesl #climbingmountains #whatsyoursuperpower #communication #focusedcommunication #effective communication #leadership #effective  #instructionaldesign #instructionaldesigners #traininganddevelopment #trainingdelivery #mobilelearning #learninganddevelopment #learningdesign #learningdesigner #podcasting #podcasts #podcastlife #trainingsolutions #trainings #education Daniel Coonrod Abby Dawson
