Episode 15– The PerspectivExchange Podcast.
Perspective Exchange is a political debate podcast, where Andrew Dunn (Democratic Socialist) and Joe Pangaro (MAGA Conservative), argue about the week’s biggest stories from completely different perspectives.
In this episode:
The episode begins with a discussion of the recent Supreme Court case involving an incident at a Louisiana state prison, where Damon Landor's head was shaved even though prison officials knew he was a devout Rastafarian. That then leads into a broader discussion about how constitutional protections apply to non-citizens.
Speaking of non-citizens, Andrew and Joe discuss the recent cuts to U.S. foreign aid, specifically in South Africa, and debate whether the United States should be providing foreign assistance in the first place.
They then get into another one of Trump's "hissy fits," where he told gas companies to lower their prices. Andrew thinks it's ridiculous because there's nothing the president can do to force companies to comply, Joe however does believe that it isn't a wasted effort since the president still has considerable influence.
The episode wraps up with our recurring segment, "News That's Not in the News," where they discuss President Trump rolling back several gun control measures. Be sure to stick around for that as well!
