कः महामूर्खः ?

कस्मिंश्चित् ग्रामे दामोदरः नाम कश्चन महामूर्खः दरिद्रः च आसीत् । कस्यचित् संन्यासिनः वचनानुसारं तस्य भाग्यान्वेषणार्थं पूर्वाभिमुखं प्रयाणम् आरब्धवान् । मार्गमध्ये एकः सिंहः, एकः उद्यानपालः, एकः राजा च तेषां समस्यायाः समाधानं भाग्यदेवतां पृष्ट्वा वदतु इति निवेदितवन्तः । चतुर्दशदिनानि यावत् प्रयाणं कृत्वा संन्यासिना उक्तं पर्वतं प्राप्य गुहायां कश्चन निद्रितवान् आसीत् । भवान् कः ? इति पृष्टे सः उक्तवान् 'अहमेव भवतः भाग्यम्' इति । ततः सः प्रश्नत्रयस्य समाधानं पृष्ट्वा ततः निर्गतवान् । ततः सः राज्ञः, उद्यानपालस्य, सिंहस्य च कृते समाधानं वदति वा ? तर्हि सः महामूर्खः कथं जातः ? भ्रमनिवारणार्थं संपूर्णतया कथां शृण्वन्तु ।

In a certain village, there was a poor and foolish man named Damodara. Following the advice of a sage, he set out eastward in search of his fortune. On his journey, he encountered a lion, a gardener, and a king, who each asked him to inquire about solutions to their problems from the deity of fortune. After traveling for fourteen days, he reached a mountain where a mysterious person was sleeping in a cave. Upon asking who he was, the person replied, "I am your fate." सम्भाषणसन्देशः इति संस्कृतमासिकपत्रिका (https://sambhashanasandesha.in) । एतस्यां पत्रिकायां प्रकाशिताः लेखाः, कथाः, बालकथाः, वार्ताः इत्यादिकं सर्वम् अपि सरलसंस्कृतेन एव प्रकाश्यते । तत्रत्याः “बालमोदिनी”नामिकाः बालकथाः अत्र प्रसार्यन्ते । अतः अस्याः शृङ्खलायाः नाम अपि “बालमोदिनी” एव । लघु गात्रं, सरला भाषा च कथानां विशेषः । प्रत्येकं कथा काञ्चित् नीतिं बोधयति । बालकथाः आबालवृद्धं सर्वेषां प्रियाः । संस्कृतेन ताः श्रोतुम् उपलब्धाः भवन्तु इति एषः प्रयत्नः श्रोतृभ्यः अवश्यं रोचेत इति विश्वासः । संस्कृतक्षेत्रे संस्कृतेन पॉड्कास्ट् क्रियमाणाः एताः प्रप्रथमाः कथाः इति सगौरवम् उद्घोष्यते ।
