words that we use all the time, right, in our dictionaries. 00:12:03.440 --> 00:12:06.700 But it meant that he loved God and wanted to obey him. 00:12:07.400 --> 00:12:11.140 That's pretty cool to think about, that when Scripture talked about the heart of Simeon, 00:12:11.220 --> 00:12:13.100 that this is what Scripture tells us. 00:12:13.620 --> 00:12:16.420 That above all things, he loved God had waited his whole life, his whole life, to see the Messiah. 00:12:26.560 --> 00:12:30.420 He desperately wanted to see the Messiah. 00:12:31.140 --> 00:12:32.340 And now he's an older guy. day Simeon, remember, he's obedient, he's devout, he loves God. 00:12:53.940 --> 00:13:03.060 That the Holy Spirit, the Spirit that lives in us, as followers of Jesus, leads him into the temple. 00:13:45.440 And when Simeon saw Jesus, he was so excited that the Bible tells us that he went, and he picked him up, and he held him up. 00:13:46.160 --> 00:13:52.720 And he began to praise God for this wonderful, beautiful gift of the Messiah. 00:13:53.640 --> 00:14:04.800 You see, the whole story, the whole point of Christmas, the reason why we decorate, the reason why we celebrate, the reason
