दानसंस्कारः

कदाचित् कश्चन महात्मा कस्यचन निर्धनगृहस्य पुरतः स्थित्वा भिक्षां याचितवान् । तदा तस्मिन् गृहे काचित् बालिका अवदत् 'गृहे दानयोग्यं किमपि नास्ति' इति । महात्मा अवदत् 'दानक्रिया एव मुख्या । मूल्यं वस्तुनि नास्ति, भावे एव अस्ति । गृहस्य पुरतः स्थितां धूलिमपि दातुं शक्यते' इति । बालिका श्रद्धया धूलिं गृहीत्वा महात्मनः पात्रे न्यवेशयत् । एतत् दृष्ट्वा शिष्यः पृष्टवान् यत् धूलिदानेन किं प्रयोजनम् अस्ति इति । 'दानम् अवश्यं करणीयम् इति बुद्धिः एतस्याः घटनायाः कारणतः तस्यां बालिकायाम् उत्पद्यते । अतः धूलिदानम् अपि महत्त्वपूर्णं फलदं च भविष्यति' इति अवदत् महात्मा ।

Once, a noble sage stood before a poor household and asked for alms. A young girl from the house replied, “There is nothing in our home worthy of being given.” The sage gently said, “The act of giving itself is what matters. Value lies not in the object, but in the intention. Even the dust lying in front of the house can be offered.” With devotion, the girl picked up some dust and placed it in the sage’s bowl. Witnessing this, a disciple asked, “What purpose does giving dust serve?” The sage replied, “This incident awakens the understanding in the girl that giving is essential. Therefore, even the offering of dust will bear meaningful fruit.” This story beautifully conveys that the spirit of generosity matters more than the material value of the gift.

What is बालमोदिनी?

सम्भाषणसन्देशः इति संस्कृतमासिकपत्रिका (https://sambhashanasandesha.in) । एतस्यां पत्रिकायां प्रकाशिताः लेखाः, कथाः, बालकथाः, वार्ताः इत्यादिकं सर्वम् अपि सरलसंस्कृतेन एव प्रकाश्यते । तत्रत्याः “बालमोदिनी”नामिकाः बालकथाः अत्र प्रसार्यन्ते । अतः अस्याः शृङ्खलायाः नाम अपि “बालमोदिनी” एव । लघु गात्रं, सरला भाषा च कथानां विशेषः । प्रत्येकं कथा काञ्चित् नीतिं बोधयति । बालकथाः आबालवृद्धं सर्वेषां प्रियाः । संस्कृतेन ताः श्रोतुम् उपलब्धाः भवन्तु इति एषः प्रयत्नः श्रोतृभ्यः अवश्यं रोचेत इति विश्वासः । संस्कृतक्षेत्रे संस्कृतेन पॉड्कास्ट् क्रियमाणाः एताः प्रप्रथमाः कथाः इति सगौरवम् उद्घोष्यते ।
