For many, this time of year can be an emotional minefield. Not all of us enjoy a healthy relationship with our family or with the holiday season in general, meaning we have a lot of triggers primed to go off. But there's also an expectation for you to get together, so something could likely set you off. Nobody wants that, but you shouldn't hide from it, ignore the feelings, check out at gatherings, or just not show up - that won't solve anything. Instead, you can equip yourself with tools to help you work through your triggers by first recognizing that it's okay to be triggered and that you're likely feeling that way because let's be honest, there's a part of you in the person that's triggering you. Once you work through that, you can learn to move forward to become a better man who healthily deals with these stressors.
