Shauntelle Leona Johnson passed away on Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at the age of 27. She was born on October 19, 1991 in Des Moines, Iowa to Steven Duane Johnson and Veronica Jean Stines. She was preceded in death by her uncles, David Johnson and Alfie Stines; her grandmothers, Leona Johnson and Nana Stines; and her grandfather, Stanley Johnson. She is survived by her son, Stryker Steven Grimm; her mother, Veronica Jean Stines and father, Steven Duane Johnson; her brother, Shaun Steven Johnson; her sisters, Shyenne Verna Johnson and Shelby Veronica Johnson; her nieces, Tanner Jade O’Bryan and Tyler Leona O’Bryan; and her nephew, Travers Dean O’Bryan; and sister-in-law, Lydia Maren Hagins.
Shauntelle attended Johnston Middle School until she moved to Waukee in 2004 with her family. She graduated from Waukee High School a year early in 2009. She excelled in all subjects but particularly in writing and art classes. She was an all-star in the serving industry and was awarded the “Most-Fun Bartender to Work With” by her co-workers on numerous occasions at a handful of establishments around the Des Moines metro. Her recent position at Tonic in the heart of downtown Des Moines was one of her favorites. She attended college classes to obtain her CNA because she enjoyed helping people.
Throughout the years, she enjoyed spending every moment with her friends and family. She loved traveling and being in nature. Her trips included hiking in Arizona, New Mexico, and Colorado. She loved immensely with her whole heart. Any who were fortunate enough to know and be around her always felt loved and fulfilled with her.
Shauntelle’s Memorial Gathering will be Tuesday, August 27th, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at The Kinnick-Feller Gazebo and Picnic shelter in Adel, Iowa.
We welcome all to join in this celebration of life.
Any funds remaining after memorial costs are covered will go toward the college fund of her surviving son, Stryker.
