It's time for our monthly STATE OF THE HERONS.
A lot has changed since our last check-in. Inter Miami has struggled to consistently get results in MLS, Kily González has taken over, and the Herons have added another trophy after winning the Campeones Cup.
So how should we feel about Inter Miami right now?
On this episode of Battered Herons, we're taking a step away from individual match reactions and looking at the bigger picture. We'll assess the squad, the performances we've seen over the past month, Kily's early impact, what's working, what still needs fixing and whether winning a trophy has changed our outlook on the season.
We'll also discuss our expectations for the final stretch. What would make the rest of 2026 a success? How much confidence do we have in this team heading toward the playoffs? And after everything we've seen this season, is Inter Miami actually capable of making another championship run?
It's our September temperature check on the Herons.
Where are we now—and where is this team going?
