Grapevine Wellness Show

Gabe spent nearly a decade on patrol, seven years on SWAT, and five years as a sniper with Reno PD before retiring this year. He was trained to stay composed under extreme pressure. What that training didn't prepare him for was what all of it would eventually cost him.
In this episode, Gabe shares the story behind the badge: the immense personal struggles he faced in the years following his military service, and the sixteen years of sobriety he's built since. He talks candidly about what recovery actually required, why the culture around asking for help in law enforcement and military life is so slow to change, and how he found his way back to purpose through helping others carry what he once carried alone.
Today Gabe runs Precision Resilience, a fitness and firearms training business, and the Resilient Lives Foundation, a nonprofit supporting first responders and veterans through group workouts built around trauma and moral injury. In this episode, he and Jolyn also talk through firearms training and preparedness in a way that's accessible whether or not you've ever considered owning a gun.
If you've ever wondered what happens to the people trained to hold everything together for the rest of us, this conversation is for you.
